Hi Everyone! Here's a message I just got from head office.... As always, contact me if you have questions.
Hi Everyone:
Fingers crossed. We haven't given up yet.
The ARC in Calgary AB has allowed us to reserve new dates for the CCS 2021 Westerns - June 16 - 20th.
We like these dates because it's: -after the Vegas tournies, -it's still before the end of the normal school year and -It's not in July or August during the peak camping summer vacation period. This is still subject of course to the relaxation of the current Alberta Covid 19 restrictions.
With the recent widespread availability of the vaccines and the current relatively low number of Covid 19 cases and related hospitalizations in Alberta, we think the chances are good that we'll get the okay shortly.
We'll keep you posted as soon as there are confirmed developments.
The CCS knows that many leagues in Western Canada did start up last Fall before they were forced to suspend play.
However, it's not known yet how much time (if any) that leagues will have to resume play before these new tournament dates.
As such, the CCS has reduced the required number of weeks played from 8 down to 2 for this event.
We will try to be as creative as we can to help any player or team interested in playing.
In the meantime, what a relief that things are starting to look positive again!
It's been a loooooong year.
Can't wait to get out and play pool again with friends and family.
